People Make the Difference!

On a Saturday evening, a minister sat at his desk struggling over his Sunday sermon. His wife had gone shopping, leaving the minister in charge of their ten-year-old son. Each time the minister would begin to formulate an idea, his young son would burst into his study and interrupt his thought process. Sometimes the boy had a question but at other times it was obvious that the child simply wanted his father's attention.

Realizing that he would have to think of something to keep his son occupied, the minister offered a proposition. The boy would receive ten dollars if he could piece together a map of the world which the father had cut up. Eagerly the child, with the puzzle in hand, went to another room. The father breathed a sigh of relief as he returned to the business of creating his sermon. But, in less than ten minutes his son was back in the study gleefully displaying the completed map.

The minister was openly astonished at this feat and said to his son, "How did you finish so quickly?" "Well, Dad," the boy replied, "It was simple. On the other side of the map is a picture of a man. I figured if the man was right, the world would be right." The father pulled a ten dollar bill from his pocket and reward his son with the money. "Son," said the father, "Thank you. You have given me my sermon for tomorrow." A paraphrase from W. Clemont Stone's Success Through Positive Mental Attitudes.

Here at the A-Pine Restaurant, we believe in the philosophy that is found in this story. To paraphrase the boy, if our people are right then the service will be right and the product will be right. We welcome suggestions from you, our guest, on ways we may improve.

Thank you for letting us serve you.
